Which Macs are supported?
Whisper Realtime requires a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported.
Does the app need an internet connection?
No. All transcription happens locally on your device. No audio data is sent anywhere.
Which languages are supported?
The app uses Whisper large-v3, which supports transcription in 100 languages. The interface is available in English and German.
Why is system audio not being captured?
Make sure you have granted screen recording permission in System Settings. If it still does not work, fully quit the app and relaunch it so macOS can refresh the permission state.
Is my audio data stored or transmitted?
No. Everything stays on your Mac. The app does not connect to any external server for transcription.
